José Eduardo Agualusa is an Angolan journalist and writer. His most recents works include The Living and the Rest (MacLehose, 2023) and A Practical Guide to Levitation (Archipelago, 2023), both translated by Daniel Hahn. He was awarded the International Dublin Literary Award for his novel A General Theory of Oblivion (Archipelago, 2023).

Daniel Hahn is the author of The Tower Menagerie (Simon & Schuster, 2004) and the translator of works by José Saramago, José Eduardo Agualusa, Gonçalo M. Tavares and others. His awards include the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize (2007) and the International Dublin Literary Award (2012). He serves on the board of English PEN.
