Irene Vallejo is a Spanish philologist, historian, and writer. Her most recent works are Manifiesto por la Lectura (Siruela, 2021) and El Infinito en un Junco (Siruela, 2019) (English title: Papyrus), for which she received the Premio Nacional de Literatura en la modalidad de Ensayo and the Premio Aragón.


Charlotte Whittle’s translations include People in the Room by Norah Lange (And Other Stories, 2018) and The Mutations by Jorge Comensal (FSG, 2019). She won the 2023 Queen SofĂ­a Translation Prize for Papyrus (Knopf, 2022). Whittle has taught literary translation at Brooklyn College and elsewhere.
