His most recent film is Nachrichten aus der ideologischen Antike: Marx – Eisenstein – Das Kapital (2008). Kluge’s awards include the Heinrich von Kleist Prize (1985), the Heinrich-Böll-Preis (1993) and the Schiller Memorial Prize (2001).
was a British translator whose translations from the German include works by Herta Müller, Erich Fried and Hubert Fichte. He won the Schlegel-Tieck Prize by the Society of Authors in 2004 for The Lesser Evil: The Diaries of Victor Klemperer, 1945-59 (Phoenix, 2003).
is an English poet, translator and critic, notable especially for his translations of German novels by W. G. Sebald, Herta Müller and Elfriede Jelinek. He is the recipient of numerous awards for poetry. His most recent collection is Half Life (Arc, 2013).
