Roving Shadows, the first volume of his ongoing series, The Last Kingdom, won the Prix Goncourt in 2002. His recent books are L’Enfant d’Ingolstadt (Grasset, 2018) and La vie n’est pas une biographie (Galilée, 2019).
has translated more than sixty books from French and German, including numerous works by Jean Baudrillard, Roland Barthes, Pascal Quignard. He is a member of the editorial advisory board of the academic journal Cultural Politics.
