is the author of six collections of poems, most recently The Corpse Flower: New and Selected Poems (University of Washington, 2007), Lord Brain (winner of the University of Georgia Press Contemporary Poets Series award, 2005) and Signs and Abominations (Wesleyan, 2000). He has received the Colorado Prize, the Pushcart prize three times, and a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. He teaches at Western Washington University.
